Nobody loses a deposit because the living room floor wasn't vacuumed. Deposits get deducted for the things a landlord or property manager checks with a flashlight and a clipboard: inside the oven, under the fridge, the tub grout, the window tracks, and the tops of door frames.
Kitchen: inside and outside the oven, including the door glass and racks. The fridge pulled out and cleaned underneath, and the inside wiped down with the shelves removed. Inside every cabinet and drawer, the range hood filter, the dishwasher filter, and the sink and faucet descaled.
Bathrooms: grout and caulk lines scrubbed, the exhaust fan cover cleaned, the toilet base and behind it, mirrors streak-free, and every fixture polished. Mineral deposits from Reno's hard water are the most common bathroom deduction.
Every room: baseboards, door frames, switch plates, and doors wiped. Blinds dusted and window tracks cleaned. Closet shelves and floors done. Light fixtures and ceiling fans cleaned. Walls spot-cleaned for scuffs, and nail holes noted for the landlord.
Finally, floors last, working from the far corner toward the door, and every bit of debris out of the garage and patio. Our move-out cleans run from this exact list, and if a landlord flags anything within 24 hours, we come back and handle it.
